An Introduction
Hi, I’m Elaine. Welcome to The Firefly Loft!
Before we get into all things therapy-related I thought I’d introduce myself. So if you’re new here, hello.
Having lived in Bexley, a South East London borough, for most of my life, I’ve established strong connections within our local community and love any opportunity to engage with those around me. Whilst there have been many changes, most significantly in recent years, I am continually grateful for where I am today doing what I love most – Reiki.

Why Reiki?
So why did I get into Reiki in the first place? About 10 years ago I began looking into complementary therapies and was really keen to experience ‘something’ for myself, without quite knowing what that ‘something’ was. After some apprehension, and without knowing much about Reiki itself, I booked in for a 1-to-1 treatment with the lovely Lucy, who would eventually go on to become my Reiki Master.
That initial treatment truly sparked something in me, so much so, that I continued to see Lucy for further treatments and quickly booked in for my Reiki First Degree Course, with the Second Degree following soon after.
As a Reiki practitioner, I have been able to treat friends, family, and private clients, whilst also having the privilege of giving Reiki to patients and carers in local Hospices around the Bexley area. I’m also a volunteer with the Harmony Therapy Trust offering Reiki to people in their own homes, with each treatment simply confirming that Reiki is what I should be doing.
My journey with Reiki continues to evolve as a Reiki Master and Teacher and member of the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), allowing me to teach others up to a Reiki Master Teacher level. In 2022, I also qualified in Womb Reiki, focusing specifically on the womb area, available for anyone regardless of gender, fertility, or age.
What Does The Future Hold For The Firefly Loft?
Aromatherapy is something I’ve always been interested in, so I’m keen to get another qualification under my belt this year which is really exciting. I have loved connecting with the public at craft fairs with our Firefly Loft range of candles and diffusers, so there are certainly more of those on the cards. Plus, who knows, perhaps my range of home-fragrance products will expand over time as well! The future of The Firefly Loft is certainly something I’m excited about, and I hope you are too.
